Using Promotional Mugs To Differentiate Your Brand

Promotional Mugs are just one of the many promotional gifts available whose impact has been dramatically improved by technology and recent trends. Promotional mugs have always been a firm favourite within the marketing manager’s corporate gifts arsenal because they are popular, useful and offer great desktop advertising opportunities.

During the last decade their importance has grown, driven by trends on the high street and an explosion of coffee outlets. Whilst many people grab a coffee on the way to work, this becomes just one of several that they will consume during the day. Many coffee suppliers in response to competition from high street coffee outlets have innovated and provide coffee granules, powders and mixes that can be made up within a company canteen including expresso, cappucino and lattes. In addition vendors have improved their vending machines to offer similar alternatives to jarred coffee.

So whilst we have become more a nation of coffee drinkers and coffee has become more widely available – what do we drink it from? Now on the move most people are offered a standard plastic cup but for people on the road this is simply inconvenient and impersonal. So travel mugs are the preferred choice for road warriers on the go because of their convenience. Travel mugs also provide great personalisation and branding opportunities and with their plastic or aluminium bodies, they can take a suitable screen print. Within companies off course, paper and plastic cups are offered but many people prefer to stick to a ceramic mug and again such promotional mugs offer great branding and advertising opportunities.

Now in terms of printing, techniques that were costly and the remit for large quantity production runs are now available for much smaller volumes. This has allowed the development of Photo Mugs which can featuring a full or half-wrap of a photo image printed in full CMYK (four colour print). In addition, specialist prints can be applied such as on WOW Mugs which respond to heat and only reveal their imprint when filled with a warm or hot liquid, such as coffee or tea.

Where trends and technologies combine further is with the range of physical styles of promotional coffee and tea mugs now available. The great British mug is still available but more often than not we are also being asked to supply small and large Lattes and giant coffee cups and saucers. Any of these promotional mugs offer great advertising opportunities and the chance for your logo, corporate contact details and marketing message to be seen up to fifteen times a week or more.

So if you are considering using coffee mugs and tea cups for a marketing promotion, turn to a professional promotional coffee mugs supplier like Redbows. From our Promotional Gifts Supply we supply a large range of promotional mugs. If you cannot find the mugs you want let our Promotional Gifts Consultants to source them for you.

This product cured my Keurig brewer blues

My Keurig started acting funny. Coffee was not as warm, it started to make louder noises during the brewing process and the coffee sizes were becoming less and less reliable (example: a tall travel sized portion was much less). The machine was acting up because it was clogged with scale. Easy solution: de-scale.

I’ve used vinegar in the past for all of my brewer descaling and it has worked satisfactorily. However, vinegar is not a product I keep around that often, it smells when it’s used in a descaling situation and it takes up a lot of room if stored. That said, vinegar does work … but I like these Cleancaf packets better.

Pros: they are small, easy to use, and this purchase gives you 9 uses.

Cons: is an irritant, may be more costly than vinegar

I believe a reviewer mentioned a “blue” color so that one could tell if the product was through the system adequately. For me, this was not the case. The color was cloudy white, not blue. But after several runs through my Keurig, it worked.

My method of use:

1) I have a Keurig B70 Single-cup K-cup brewer. I used a large Pyrex Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart Measuring Cup, Clear with Red Measurements measuring cup to prepare the mixture and catch the mixture.

2) After I prepared the mix in warm water, I poured it into my Kuerig water reservoir and ran it through cup cycles (about 4 of them).

3) I thoroughly rinsed the water reservoir and used clean water to run through more cup cycles on the machine. Using my Pyrex, I could watch the water become clearer and clearer.

4) I ran 3 reservoirs of water through before I was satisfied it was clean enough and there were no traces of this product left. That worked.

After I was done, the coffee came out PIPING HOT at the set 129 degrees F. The portions were even and the machine was brewing much more quietly and efficiently. Descaling is not one of those things that one usually thinks about too often until a brewer starts to get moody. This is a great product to have on hand to take care of the brewer blues.

5 Stars!

We’ve used this product for years on several expresso machines, in our home and office. It works well. The price we got from Amazon was better than we’d gotten previously from two coffee specialty online stores.

Italian Espresso Maker

italian espresso maker

Overview of Espresso and Espresso Machines

What do you think of when you hear the word “espresso”? Perhaps,

“Express – train; fast black, iron horse of rocket fuel!”

Or,

“Strong. Hyper-caffeinated. Bitter. What, me try it?” (is you a man or is you a mouse?)

Also, maybe,

“I like my coffee black, but not that black!”

Wrong. Espresso, when correctly made, is none of these things.

Espresso is a traditional coffee drink invented by the French, but perfected by the Italians. You can associate the word “espresso” with the English word “press”, for that is the fundamental action pertaining to both the ground coffee – which is pressed into a compact disc – and the machine used to make it, which forces or “presses” hot water through the disc of coffee. The result is a demitasse (very small cup) of all of the best characteristics of the coffee bean with none of the less desirable ones.

A well “pulled” shot of espresso is not bitter. The flavor is full, complex, and remains on the tongue for 10-15 minutes after drinking it. That flavor can be fairly accurately compared with the wonderful aroma present when the seal is first broken on a container of coffee. If your espresso is bitter blame the barista, not the drink.

Afraid of the shakes? Don’t be. Surprisingly, given the concentrated nature of the drink, a shot of espresso has only about half the caffeine of a normally brewed cup of joe. This is because the heated water is forced through the coffee too quickly (ideally in around 20 seconds) to liberate all of the caffeine present in the grind.

All of this wonderfulness requires a special type of machine to make. As already mentioned, an espresso machine’s express purpose is to press heated water (about 200 degrees) through a disc of pressed coffee. How is this accomplished? There are 3 basic designs: steam driven, piston driven, and pump driven.

Mechanically, the simplest is the steam driven machine. It employs steam pressure to force water through the coffee. Since there are no moving parts, this design is normally used for lower-priced home espresso makers. This principle was also used in early commercial machines but was abandoned by professionals when a better design came along in 1945.

That design is the piston driven machine. In this design, a long lever is pulled by the barista (hence the phrase “pulling” a shot) to drive a piston, which in turn forces the heated water out of a cylinder and through the coffee. A later refinement of this design was to interject a spring into the process between the lever and piston. The lever compresses the spring, which in turn drives the pistion. The purpose is to better control the pressure of the water (ideally 9 ft-lbs) as it is forced through the coffee.

An even better design was introduced in 1961, the pump driven machine. This design uses an electric pump to force the water. The benefit is more accuracy (and no arm-strain!).

Good espresso also has a “head”, like a beer does. The head is made up of concentrated oils from the coffee. It is dark reddish-brown, and should have enough body to support the weight of a teaspoon of sugar for about 2 seconds before it sinks into the drink.

The coffee itself is, of course, rather important. It should be of a medium roast; a dark roast has had too many of the oils and sugars cooked out of it. It also needs to be ground exactly right. A proper grind can be described as the consistency of talcum powder. The best bet is to have your espresso professionally ground at a good shop. They have the right equipment and know-how to make a perfect grind.

Need water quality even be discussed here? You don’t drink tap, so don’t brew tap. Enough said there.

Espresso is complex in both nature and process. It requires special equipment and exacting technique to make properly, but is well worth the effort. If you’ve never tried it, drop by a reputable coffee house and let them convince you. Chances are you’ll be hooked.

Espresso Cappuccino Machine

espresso cappuccino machine

Coffee Espresso Machine: Tips for Buying the Perfect One for You

Imagine yourself relaxing into your favorite chair, at your favorite table by the window, holding your warm cappuccino. You savor the aroma and admire the frothy, foamy peak your barista brought to life. It’s nice and peaceful. No noisy chatter. Just quiet.

And here’s the best part: your car keys are sitting on your dresser, and you’re still in your pajamas. And that talented barista who has mastered the art of foam? That’s you! You’ve created your own quaint little cafe right here at home, with your very own coffee espresso machine.

Think this is impossible? Think again! There are many different types of espresso machines on the market that are made especially for home use, ranging from very basic and affordable, right up to the same machines used by professional baristas.

However, before you rush into investing in a coffee espresso machine, take some time to do your homework and consider your needs and preferences. How often do you plan to make espresso drinks at home? Do you also drink a lot of brewed coffee? (Some machines have dual brewing capabilities.) How important is the milk frothing capability to you? If you have preferences in any areas such as these, this will help you narrow down the possibilities.

Also consider any preferences you may have about how your espresso drinks are made. For instance, my favorite part of an espresso shot is the crema – that’s the caramel-colored, creamy foam that forms on a perfectly pulled shot. When you pour shots from a shot glass into the mug, most of the crema gets left behind, so I prefer a coffee espresso machine that is tall enough to fit the whole mug, so I can enjoy the entire shot in my drink.

Here are the basic types of coffee espresso machines on the market:

What is the Pump Coffee Espresso Machine?

This is the best but most expensive type of machine to buy. The pump coffee espresso machine is called this because they use a pump to keep the water pressure at the appropriate level, which produces the best and most consistent shot of espresso. These machines are primarily made for commercial use, and are usually very large, heavy, and noisy, but can be used at home.

About the Piston Coffee Espresso Machine

This type of machine uses a piston or lever system to manually maintain the optimum pressure required for a great shot of espresso. This type of coffee espresso machine requires little maintenance, and is much quieter than the pump machines. However, the lever may require a good deal of arm strength to keep the pressure at the right level, and it may take some practice to get the timing down. But if you’re willing to experiment and work out the process, you’ll be rewarded by a great shot, and a sense of accomplishment.

About the Steam Coffee Espresso Machine

This type of coffee espresso machine is typically smaller, easily accessible and relatively affordable, using heat to produce steam instead of a pump or piston to create the pressure. While the lower prices are definitely an advantage for steam machines, if you’re very particular about the quality of your espresso shots, you may find that the steam does not always produced the optimum pressure for the best tasting coffee. Also, maintaining enough steam to both pull shots and steam milk at the same time is sometimes difficult.

About Moka Pots

This type of machine costs the least of all the options, and requires only your stovetop. The moka pot is a two-part pot which uses boiling water and the steam to create pressure, which pushes the boiling water up through the espresso grounds rather than gravity simply pulling heated what down. The coffee tastes great, but since you cannot froth milk with a moka pot, it’s not for you if you really like your lattes and cappuccinos. But if you like a good espresso or a shot in the dark (brewed coffee with a shot of espresso added) and have a limited budget, give the moka pot a try.

Don’t be put off by the high prices on a coffee espresso machine. Take a few moments to consider what that daily latte is costing you. A latte can cost you as much as $4. If you’re like me, you average about five a week. That’s $975 a year! Over the course of time you may find that dropping the money once up front is worth the investment – especially when you consider the convenience of enjoying your favorite espresso beverage at home.

So take a little time to consider each of these options and how they fit with your preferences and needs. Whichever coffee espresso machine you choose to create your own cafe at home, you’ll be making your own espresso drinks for you and your friends and family – with or without the frothy foam peaks – in no time.

Espresso Coffee

espresso coffee

A Closer Look at the Espresso Coffee Maker

While the end products of the espresso coffee maker and a standard coffee maker may be similar in taste, their mechanics ands methods of operation are quite different. The biggest difference is that coffee is brewed under normal atmospheric pressure, while espresso is produced with pressurized hot water.

Course Ground vs Powdered Coffee Beans

Another difference between the two machines is the texture of the ground coffee beans that are used to make espresso and coffee. To make coffee, the beans are ground to a course consistency, while espresso requires that the beans be ground to a fine powder.

Pump vs Steam Pressure

In the same way that there are differences in the way the two coffee machine function, so too are there differences in the mechanics of various espresso machines. For instance, some espresso coffee makers will incorporate a pump mechanism to force the hot water through the powdered beans, while most espresso machines use steam power to generate the pressure that is needed.

Different Water Temperatures

Water temperature is another factor that sets that espresso coffee maker apart from a standard coffee maker. In short, an espresso coffee maker will use water that is heated to just below the boiling point in temperature. On the other hand, coffee machines tend to use water that is at least at the boiling temperature to brew standard coffee.

A Smoother Taste

The result is that espresso, though much more concentrated than coffee will tend to have a smoother flavor. This is due to the fact that the slightly cooler water will tend to leave much of the bitter oils that are contained in coffee behind during the brewing process.

A Wide Variety in Size and Price

As a far as the price of the actual machines is concerned, they are for the most part comparatively equal. They both come in a wide range of prices depending on the features contained in them and the over all quality and size of the individual machine. Also there are machines available that can produce both espresso and coffee.

3 Types of Espresso Coffee Machines

There are a number of different espresso coffee machines that you can buy today. These include the manual, semi automatic and the full or super automatic. Below I will be taking a closer look at just what each of these machines are capable of doing.

1. Manual Espresso Coffee Machine

This type of machine requires the person using it to carry out all the various procedures involved in order to brew a great cup of espresso coffee. You will need to add both the water and the coffee grinds as well as controlling the frother if you are making cappuccinos or lattes.

2. Semi Automatic Espresso Coffee Machine

With this particular machine you will need to start the process by turning the machine on and then pressing a button. Then once the espresso has been made, you will then need to turn the machine off. However with this machine you will be required to ensure that they water reservoir is filled and that there is sufficient beans within the grinder (as some models come with an internal coffee grinder).

3. Full or Super Automatic Espresso Coffee Machine

This machine will produce a great espresso coffee without you having to participate in the process at all. These types of machines come with a fully integrated water system (which is attached directly to a water supply) and a coffee grinder for grinding the beans. With this particular machine all you need to do now is push a button and then the machine takes over and at the end will produce a great cup of espresso coffee. During each process, once the beans have been ground and used they will then be ejected and placed in an internal bin which can then be taken out and the contents removed.

When it comes time for you to find the perfect espresso coffee machine, you will need to determine just how convenient you want it to be. So if you are someone who wants to be involved in every process of making your own great cups of coffee, then the manual espresso coffee machine is the ideal choice for you.

However if you are someone who just wants to sit back and relax before they start drinking a great cup of coffee then the semi or super automatic espresso coffee machines may be your preferred choice. Also you will need to take into consideration the cost, unfortunately both the semi and super automatic machines can be quite expensive, plus they are quite large as well so may take up more space than you have available.

A great way of learning more about these various types of espresso coffee machines is by going online. There are lots of sites that can offer you reviews as well as offering great discounts on some of the more well known brands available today.
